Eleanor Havsteen-Franklin was born on the island Ærø, Denmark in 1973 and has lived in the UK since 1994. She studied MA Printmaking at Camberwell College of Art (UAL) between 2005-2007. She also holds a Pg.Dip in Art Therapy from the University of Hertfordshire (1999).

Since her MA in Printmaking she has exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, receiving many awards and undertaken several residencies. Solo Exhibitions include Incrementum, Danske Grafikeres Hus Copenhagen (2023), Solo as part of ‘Natur – Syn – Rum’ with 3 Generations at Museet Holmen DK (2023), Gyldendal Publishing House in Copenhagen (2019), De Queeste Art in Belgium (2018); Underskudsbutikken in Copenhagen (2016), The Pie Factory in Margate (2013), Watford Museum (2012) and ‘Surfaces Imbued’ at The Experiment, Luton (2008). 

Selected group exhibitions include SILA: Inuit Culture and Arctic Sustainability at the Royal Geographical Society London; Royal Academy Summer Exhibition; Northern Print Biennale; Millimetre, Kingsgate Project Space; Wells Art Contemporary; Guanlan Print Biennale - China; Confluence - The Printroom Studio; RE Open at Bankside Gallery, Open West at Summerfield Galley - Cheltenham; Health & Climate & Ecological Emergency - University College London Hospital; Selected Printmakers at Bircham Gallery - Norfolk; Creekside Open at A.P.T Gallery - London; Venice Biennale with WW Gallery and 6th International Print Exhibition at Kyoto City Art Museum - Japan. 

Prizes include 1st prize Pushing Print (Solo show at the The Pie Factory, Margate), BITE at Mall Gallery and School of Creative Arts Prize, Hertfordshire.
